My Dream Watch - Greubel & Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Incline

My Dream Watch - Greubel & Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Incline

The Greubel & Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Incline came out 2006. The tourbillon cage has a high angular velocity which results in rapidly changing positions. The tourbillon mechanism is made from aluminium alloy for strength and lightness, with Avional used for the pillars of the tourbillon cage and titanium for the carriage bridges. There are different versions available in redgold, whitegold and platinum with two different dials (black or silver). The redgold / black dial version shown in the video above costs about 300,000 USD.

Hublot BigBang Chrono Rosegold
Like I posted here before, I visited the Hublot store around the corner where I live. I went there, because I wanted to take a closer look at the Hublot BigBang chrono rose gold with the black ceramic bezel. It is a competitor to the Audemars Piguet chrono rose gold black bezel. Although the Hublot is about 15,000 USD cheaper ;-)

In reality the Hublot chrono doesn't amaze me. I once had the AP on my wrist and it is much more shinier. The white gold screws in the AP black ceramic bezel were sparkling like diamonds and also the gold case had a much better finish. So I was a litte bit disappointed.

But then I found these watches below. The Hublot King Power F1 Ceramic and Suzuka. The King Power ceramic watch cost about 25,000 USD, while the King Power Suzuka cost about 3000 USD more. Both are 48 mm and the Suzuka is more like the AeroBang because it has a see through skeleton dial. Both are chronos with two buttons on the right side and also a date is shown in the lower right corner between the subdials. The best thing is the carbon bezel which has little dots. This should imitate the look of a carbon brake used in the formula one. The ceramic F1 watch looks really nice and I think about buying one...

My first love ... the Glashutte Original Senator Chronograph Rose Gold

My first love in the world of haute horlogerie was the Glashutte Original Senator Chronograph Rose Gold from 2006 for about 13,000 USD. It came with a black alligator leather strap. In my opinion it is much better looking then the new Glashutte Senator Chronos, because the hands are not luminescent and there is no "smiley" on the lower subdial (I mean the Glashutte SA writing; take a look at the new Senator Chrono Dials and you know what I mean ;-). What I also liked, was the look of the watch. It has a very sporty look for a classical dress watch. If you are under 40 like me, this fits very fine to a suit and doesn't make you look much older :-)

Three Subdials. Very clean look. The right one is the second hand dial.

Movement is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.

I liked the wooden case. Very fine piece of handcraft.

The first impression after opening the wooden box.
