Panerai Luminor Marina Automatic PAM104 Review

I always wanted a PAM since I heard of Panerai. For me the PAM104 is my personal base pam (although the PAM000, PAM112, PAM114, PAM176 and PAM 219 are the official base pams with just 2 hands and no other functions like a subdial or date). The PAM104 has a totally polished case. So not only the bezel is polished (like the PAM 1950 models).

+ Very shiny and polished steel case
+ Clear display, good to read even in the dark, because of luminescent hands and marks
+ The strap changing culture and how easy it is to change the strap
- Heavy but ok for that size (44 mm)
- Not the famous Panerai sandwich dial
- You can feel and even hear the rotor of the automatic movement, if you move your hand fast

The real carbon strap was not included. I bought it later and it is my favorite one for this watch.

Panerai Luminor Marina Model 00104, 44 mm polished steel case, automatic mechanical movement, Panerai OP III calibre, 42 hours power reserve, 13 1/4 lignes, 21 jewels, shows hours, minutes, small seconds and date, magnifying lens over the date at 3 o'clock, 300 meters water resistant, comes with an black alligator strap and a officine panerai rubber strap with PANERAI personalised buckle, Price: about 6900 USD.

  1. Hi,

I'm kind of carbon fiber fans, is a perfect match to your 104.

May i know where you get this carbon strap?

Appreciate if you could email to nismo_teamdash@yahoo.com for the details.

    Thanks.

  3. This is a nice watch! And at $7000? All I can do now is fantasize about it. Yeah, I can see it now -- an imaginary Panerai watch dangling on my wrist. I haven’t heard much about Luminor Marina, aside from that they’re Italian, but it looks like they really make quality stuff!

  4. Love the look. It is also my favorite Panerai. There is something very elegant yet all buisness about this model.

  5. The Pam 104 is my favorite Panerai. The dial is very elegant yet all business. The watch ozzes class with being overly flashy.

  7. Hi there... Nice watch! I have found PAM104's with the OPIII movement, but wondering if it's available with other movements also? I see this one is fitted with OP6763. Or am I missing something. Are they the same, perhaps?
